Frequently Asked Questions

Is your photographic style more artistic or photojournalistic?
My work is a mixture of both. Having had four years of training in art photography, I do take the time to create an emotional, artistic aura in all of my pictures. However, when photographing events like weddings, I realize the important of capturing every occurrence of the day. I try to accomplish both extremes, and strive to produce pictures that are beautiful, meaningful, and a complete representation of the event.

What kind of camera do you use?
For weddings, I use a Canon Digital Rebel XTi with a 25-90 or 75-300 lens. In every situation, I try to make the best use of natural lighting as possible. I use a Sunpak 555 flash unit if needed.

How many pictures will I receive?
For an average wedding, I will usually return 300 - 500 photos. However, this number will vary greatly depending on the type and length of wedding.

Do you use flash during the wedding ceremony?
I am willing to do whatever the bride and church will allow. Some brides prefer flash in order to ensure that their memories of the ceremony will be documented, and some prefer that ambient light be used instead. Many churches do not allow photography of any kind during the ceremony. I will work with any customer's situation and preference.

What about bridal portraits before the date of the wedding?
Many brides like to have a separate portrait session in an aesthetic outdoor or architectural location, so that her portraits can be displayed at the reception. This also allows for the portraits to be made during a less hectic time than the day of the wedding, and more time can be spent on the pictures.

What about other types of portraits?
I enjoy taking portraits of children, families, graduating seniors, and special groups. Since I do not have a studio, I do events like these in different locations. They can be arranged in many places: I have found success at locations like parks, churches, older buildings, homes, in nature, and so on... the possibilities are endless! I work with the customer to find a location that fits the situation.

How quickly do you return pictures?
I make every effort to have pictures back to customers within three weeks.
